The Federal Equal Treatment Act (Gleichbehandlungsgesetz - GlBG) is the most recent law at the federal level in Austria to protect people both in the world of work and in other areas of life. Its basic purpose is to prevent and avoid unequal treatment on the grounds of gender, including harassment and sexual harassment, and ethnic origin. In addition, the Equal Treatment Act also ensures protection against discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation, age, religion or belief in the world of work.
